My webcam turns on when I enter any steam game
For some reason, whenever I enter a Steam game, my webcam turns on (I can see the little light appears). This started out of nowhere, I don't remember changing my Steam settings at any point before I noticed it.
Does anyone have a possible explanation or solution for this so-called issue?
I found one other Steam user who experienced the same thing - please check out post if mine wasn't clear enough, or if you have the solution to this situation: http://steamcommunity.com/app/219890/discussions/0/864958451660311603/

Change the default mic from the webcam to something else, change it in windows control panel sound options.

I can't find other mic that I can change to... just Realtek High Definition Audio (I went in the Control Panel to: Hardware and Sound --> Sound --> Manage Audio Device. There was only one device available, in both Playback and Recording tabs).

Was that recording device the webcam? If so disable it.

Some Acer models will automatically activate the webcam when you connect a headset or speakers. This allows the system to support Waves NX audio technology to provide a 360 degree audio experience. Waves NX uses the webcam in your computer to adjusts the sound experience when you turn your head. You must have a Waves NX head tracker to use this feature.

You can use the instructions below to disable this feature if you do not want your camera to automatically activate when an audio device is connected.

Connect your headset or speakers.
Type Waves MaxxAudio in the Windows search box and launch the Waves MaxxAudio application.
Select WAVES Nx.
Turn off the Nx functionality by moving the highlighted slider to the left.
