I haven't played DOTA 2 so i don't know how to help you on this particular issue.
However, if DOTA 2 is linked through steam, you can simply use the F12 button to take a steam-based screenshot. There is a delay with this, and i often find missing screenshots that i wish to take while using it myself. Last time i checked, the Print Screen button takes a screenshot of the current screen viewing, and can be pasted as an image in practically anything that accepts images, and im unsure of delays with this. I don't know if it's because of your screen resolution and colours being high enough, and your computer itself being bad enough that it just has that kind of delay with screens, or if it's a completely different issue.

For the moment, i recommend countering it by either going to a new screen after viewing the screen you wish to take the screenshot of, and taking it there, OR waiting an extended period of time (In this case, 15+ seconds).
