2 PC's, 2 Steam Accounts, 1 Internet Connection?
Hi to all. :ss13ok::cybereye:

Ok, so the Mrs has (finally) asked me to install Steam on her PC.

Now i'm wondering if it's ok for us both to b running Steam, using seperate accounts, on the same internet connection?

We both have our PC's connected to the same Modem-Router via ethernet cables, & sometimes i get a msg from Windows saying that we r both using the same ip address (not everytime though & does that even matter?), so i just wanted to check if that mattered when running Steam or not.

Thanks in advance for any & all help. :ss13ok::cybereye:

that will work fine

or if you both use the same acct, you can both play different games at the same time

or you can link both accounts and play eachothers games

I didn't know i could "link both accounts and play eachothers games". That sounds like something i'll b looking into more. Could save me a lot of $$, lol.

on her pc, log in once with each account (authenticae with mobile or email)
then log in your acct, and steam -> settings -> family -> family sharing, tick the boxes for both accounts

repeat on your pc with her acct

The only time it MIGHT be an issues if u both try going into same session in a Multiplayer game from the same IP#

But in a majority of games, even that is a non-issue.

But no, both of you being on Steam or other game client service from the same IP# is a non-issue. We do this here at my home and at my work; sometimes upwards of 10+ accounts all off the same IP# ~ again, non-issue.

@ Bad-Motha: Oh, hi m8, i was actually going to PM u with a link to this question, but u beat me to it. :ss13ok::cybereye:
Ok, cool. That's what i figured from the previous answers, but it's nice to have u confirm it.

So, is there a way we can both play MMORPG's together?

The only real issue I've seen or had was CSGO off multiple accounts in same session off same IP#

Ones like Diablo3, StarCraft2, DOTA2, LeagueOfLegend, GTAV; I've yet to see such an issue.

I don't play any of the game's u mentioned, lol. :rufusjoking:

I was thinking more me playing TERA in lounge-room on my PC, & wife playing TERA in b-room on her PC, & us both adventuring together.
Is that possible, or just depends on individual game?

Just try it and find out; shouldn't really be any issues there.
