How does the pre download function works?? is there a time counter to the release time?
So i am fairly new at steam... i am mostly a console gamer. I pre ordered XCOM 2 and pre downloaded it... the thing is that the "play button" still says "pre-load". And i think i've seen in some forums people talking about a time countdown to the release time of xcom2... so i gues that what i am asking is:

a) Is it normal that after pre downloading the game the play button still says "preload game"??
b) Is there a timer to release in new games? (xcom 2 in this case)

I am planning on staying up late to play a few hours of XCOM2 tonight and it would suck if when the time comes i need to re-download the game or something.

Basically what happens when you preload a game is that it download all or more likely most of the game files in an encrypted, unplayable format. Then, when the game is released, it downloads a small update that "unlocks" the game. It will automatically do this as soon as the game is purchaseable in your region.
ok, thanks for your answer, but what about the timer?? where it is supoused to be?
