Not receiving emails
Can someone please tell me how to contact support about connection problems when I am not getting any emails. The problem started with my son's account. He's not getting any emails so he cannot log in to the newly installed game client or support account. I am still logged in to game client but since I haven't used support in a while I need to receive an email verification to create a support call but I'm not getting any emails from Steam either. How do you contact support about not receiving emails when they won't talk to you till you get an email?

Please can someone tell me how I contact support (or even get someone else to open a ticket for me)?

thanks!

Are you both by chance using iCloud?

I was using iCloud before as well and wasn't receiving any emails (thankfully I was signed into Steam on one of my other computers and switched my email address to my Gmail and haven't had any more problems).

I believe the issue is on Apple's end, blocking emails from Steam.

I tried contacting Apple Support, but I didn't get very far.

I am indeed. I tried to change my email but that's not working either (fails in a really weird way, I do get the email but Steam tells me that I've entered the wrong verification code without ever actually letting me enter it). I've now created yet another account with a different email address and created a support ticket so hopefully I can actually get some help from support.

Thanks for replying, this is so frustrating to try to fix!

I've got the same problem, no emails at all to my me.com icloud account.

Did you open a support ticket? I did but I havent heard anything back from them in over 24 hours. It's so irritating I hate having to wait on Steam support, I had no idea they were so terrible.

I tried talking to Apple and a very nice lady tried very hard to help me (even though she'd never heard of Steam and I had to spell it for her). She suggested I escalate to icloudadmin@apple.com with details of the problem but I don't know if this will help or not. It might be worth everyone who's having this problem emailing them so they're aware of the extent of the issue.

Sigh!

So bizarrely it looks like I'm getting emails again. I don't know if I actually made any difference by talking to Apple or not but about two minutes after getting off the phone I started getting emails from steampowered.com. I'm going to call it a spooky coincidence and be happy that I'm connected again!

Wow, I just got an email from the iCloud mail team saying that they had investigated and made changes which seems to fit with what I'm seeing in my inbox so even though it was their fault they definitely win when it comes customer support!
Nice work!!

I just started getting some emails that were backlogged as well.

Very handy you were able to get that email address. My support experience was cut short because I was running a beta version of OS X (despite the issue NOT being related to OS X... ugh.).

Anyway, it would seem your efforts have fixed the issue for everyone, so thank you very much!

No worries, I'm glad to see that this had a successful effect for other people.

Interestingly I put a comment in my support ticket to the effect that the problem was fixed and got an instant reply from support so my impression is that they know about this and couldn't care less and basically wait till you go away. I realise that this isn't being caused by Steam but it would have been great if support had been even slightly helpful.
