My non-steam game won't recognize my Switch pro controller.

Hi!

I am trying to play Fallout New Vegas with my Switch pro controller on my laptop. Steam recognizes it and lets me do calibration and I can even control the cursor with it but when I start the actual game it no longer is active. I have the very same setup on another computer with the very same game and controller and it works perfect. What is going wrong now?

If I am not mistaken Nintendo's controllers usually don't work on PC :/

Steam has built in support. It should be plug and play as it is on my other computer.

Steam has Nintendo controller support. That doesn't mean games that aren't on Steam also have support.

New Vegas has Xinput support and Steam converts the Pro Controller to Xinput. And why would it work one of my computers and not the other one?!
