Downloading games on Steam disconnect all apps except Steam
Ever since i got a new router, when i download games on steam my other apps completely disconnect from the internet. Cant talk in Discord, cant load tabs in Chrome, and this only happens on my PC. My roommates can still download things fine and it doesnt affect my connection at all. Does anyone know any Steam or PC settings i should tweak to fix this issue?

I have the same issue but i'm not sure it is really steams fault.
Steam eats up EVERYTHING bandwidth wise so suddenly nothing else can communicate except steam.

I didn't have that issue a few months ago.
Now i just limit the bandwidth in steam just to make sure i can still do other things online.
Take a look at this to set a custom download speed :
https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/3vvizg/setting_custom_download_speed_limit/

It worked perfectly for me but you might want to make a copy of the file before modifying it.

Sounds like narrow bandwide, try use download limitation inside steam.

ps.
And its not steam faulth you and other users ( pc unit ) dont have enough bandwide or faulth packed or hardware equipment or isp into steam have issue.

Lower the dl speed a little in steam settings.
Try a download with browser of something big. If disconnects happen then as well, it might be a router problem.
