My friend has been falsely accused by someone on Steam and is now on the verge of losing his Steam account, he really needs help with the situation at hand, please help!
This is the story that i asked my friend to give me for this post, i do hope this provides enough detail of the situation in order to help us, thank you!

"> Steam problem

>

> Its 10:34pm just got off from playing Monster Hunter World 2 hours prior watching video's and such. I get a Steam message about a "friend" who i'm going to block and remove them after their mistake is resolved. They message me saying they have reported me for Fraud purchases and said they gave the name of the wrong user (Which me hi). Telling me to talk to Steam support, giving me their user steam profile. So I talk to them about it, gave them the conversation of the person that messaged me about my account being banned. (Note I HAVE NOT made any fraud charges at all) So I talk to the steam support personal, they asked for first page screenshots of my purchase history. So I do that, now this is where it gets ridiculous and stupid. They want me to confirm my identity through Coinbase and Bitcoin websites. I do it but i'm having a problem of my "ONLY DEBIT CARDS" making a purchase and getting a error. This is where everything is going to ♥♥♥♥ for me."

he also can't get into his account at all despite knowing his username and password!
It's a scam. That's not a real person from Steam Support.

(im sorry for quoting you twice, im really not sure how steam discussions work)

The "Steam support" person was named on discord; ""Steam Support" Naldy04"

i was told to ask you if this was a real steam support person
It's a scam. 100%. He should secure his account, just in case:

Scan for malware: https://www.malwarebytes.com/
Deauthorize all devices: https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
Change your password on a secure device.
Generate new back up codes: https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
Revoke the api key: https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

Scan for malware: https://www.malwarebytes.com/

He can't get into his account whatsoever, i'm sorry
Then he should use the self lock in the email about account changes.

Keep in mind those scammer will likely try to provide proof of ownership as your friend gave them screenshots of purchase history. You friend should still have older and detailed history
Steam Support obviously doesn't use Discord. Your friend needs to stop talking to those people immediately.

Support will never chat with anyone. Not even with Steam's own chat system, let alone something completely unrelated like Discord or Facebook or whatever else. The only way to contact the real Support staff is by submitting a ticket from the support page.
