Error while updating GTA V (Disk Write Error)
I can't update GTA V.

At the end of the update, it just says disk write error but when I check the error it show a path that isn't my game path (My game is on my disk C: and it shows the same path but on my disk F:, this path doesn't exist on this disk).

I've already tried verifying my games files but it doesn't solve the problem

Usually when I encounter a disk write error, it's because there is too little space on the drive. Are you sure you have enough space?
yes there is more than enough space but I think the problem here comes from steam trying to download the update on my other disk so it can't find where to install it.

Do you have disk errors? If your disk is failing this will cause this error too.
No I don't think so, it's only doing it with GTA V idk what to do

If only the files that make up the game are damaged then this could happen. Did you by any chance attempt to verify the game cache in Steam?

Im running into this problem too. I was trying to download a couple games last night and within a min of downloading it will give me the disk write error. ive got 30gb free and was downloading a 1gb game and still getting this error. ive change my steam folder from read only and reinstalled steam and checked my ssd's health and was all good. so i tried downloading a game from epic store launcher and everything worked fine. what is going on?!!!

I ran into the same problem. Turns out, if you have enough space on your disk, try closing steam completely, then restart Steam in administrator mode. If your update doesn't work from there, I'm not sure what will work, but it worked for me.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
