I actually look into steam support, you can delete the game from your library. It's different than hiding it in the library.
And I dont think it will stay on discounted price when you check out after the discount period is over.
If you think you know the answer, why post here then?
Not sure if deleting the game from library is going to help you, it might still be tied to your account. But there is a solution.
Also you are correct that putting the correct 'full version' into your cart will NOT still give you the discount once the discount has expired.
If the issue is that steam wont let you buy/install the 'full version' because you already have the base game, then you will need to wait until the refund is complete to be able to install the 'full version'. HOWEVER:
There is a way around this to ensure you still get the discount while you wait for the refund to be processed (and the base game removed from your account).
- You can buy the correct 'full version' as a "Gift" ... Just hold onto the giftable copy of the game until the refund is complete and then you can 'gift' the game to yourself and redeem it yourself.
Edit for formatting
Balls you're right, they've changed how it works since I last bought some games for gifts.
Well nothing to be done then except wait for the refund, but I wouldn't worry too much, I've always been approved refund requests within 24 hours.
