Delete the game permanently before refund request approval.
LITTLE NIGHTMARE got discount in 36 hours. I have purchased the base game by accident. I wanted to purchase the full version with the expansion.

However I've met an issue now. The base game is in my library so I couldn't buy the full version. (For whatever reason only the base game and the full version game got discount but the expansion pass itself doesn't get any discount.)

Since I've requested for refund of the game and I want to get the full version game in discounted price which ends in 36 hours, should I permanently delete the base game in my library and buy the full version of the game in discounted price? Will it affect my refund request?
Or should I wait for Valve to approve my refund and delete the game? But that will take a few days to process and by then the discount is over.

If anyone knows about it, please let me know. Thanks

EDIT: Valve actually approved my refund request within an hour so the only solution of this problem is to wait for the refund to be approve then you can only purchase the full version game.

Just uninstall game then ask for refund, We cant delete our games as they always tied to our account untill a refund.

Deleting a game on Steam is just a different wording for hiding it. Just wait for the refund. If I'm not mistaken, you can put the game you want on your cart and it'll stay on discounted price for some time.

I actually look into steam support, you can delete the game from your library. It's different than hiding it in the library.

And I dont think it will stay on discounted price when you check out after the discount period is over.

If you think you know the answer, why post here then?

Just to add some info here.

Not sure if deleting the game from library is going to help you, it might still be tied to your account. But there is a solution.

Also you are correct that putting the correct 'full version' into your cart will NOT still give you the discount once the discount has expired.

If the issue is that steam wont let you buy/install the 'full version' because you already have the base game, then you will need to wait until the refund is complete to be able to install the 'full version'. HOWEVER:

There is a way around this to ensure you still get the discount while you wait for the refund to be processed (and the base game removed from your account).
- You can buy the correct 'full version' as a "Gift" ... Just hold onto the giftable copy of the game until the refund is complete and then you can 'gift' the game to yourself and redeem it yourself.

You can not do that as a gift requires a recipient before you can even purchase it.

Balls you're right, they've changed how it works since I last bought some games for gifts.

Well nothing to be done then except wait for the refund, but I wouldn't worry too much, I've always been approved refund requests within 24 hours.
