How to get Switch Pro Controller working with non steam games
Could not find a solution online but found the solution to be easy.

Under controller settings on Steam, turn on steam input for switch pro controller.

Then add whatever program or game to steam and run it through steam.

Once in game, use the steam overlay and find the controller settings, enable steam input and select the gamepad profile.

This solved the issue of my controller pressing random buttons on games and other programs outside of steam while plugged in. No need to install extra drivers.

Alternatively Bluetooth connectivity seems to work fine, but if it's not working while wired, try the above steps.

Hope this helps

Yeah this doesn't always work. Some games. Still launch via Epic and whatever other program and won't allow the steam overlay.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
