cannot download updates (anymore?)

a week or two ago steam client is often lying about "no internet connection" when trying to download updates. it seems to happen randomly, sometimes it works
and no, it's not a problem on my part - GOG Galaxy downloads work just fine on my computer
funny part is that steam client happily updated itself but still insists on "no internet connection" on downloads
my OS is Win11 with latest updates. tried basically everything, nothing seems to have worked.
this is a very annoying problem

I found no other way to contact steam support or get help otherwise

im having the exact same problem ive cleared cache, switched regions, restarted my computer restarted steam (multiple times) updated steam itself 2 or 3 times now im trying a full reinstall right now ill let you know if that works or helps in any sort of way

Are you all win11 OS user, just checking, or should i said ruleout its only a win11 issue

old tip run as administrator at steam.exe once only.

can confirm re installing did not fix the problem

yeah you know why i ask, try to check and confirm it is.

add steam.exe to antivirus app ( whitelist it or make exception rule just incase this is the problem. )

Do note OP say 1 -2 weeks ago, not sure we as user can go that fare back, then window defender almost update every 2-3 day, and assume its windows defender. if you have other then it dont make it better.

also do note "no internet connection" then you have no establized connection into steam, also why DL wont work or dl to a game.

this should no be seen as "Content Servers Unreachable"

steam for me is downloading games at like the lowest speed you possible could do it at! its gonna take a 17GB game 2 Days to download !!!

yeah then you have a connection thats not same as "no internet connection." you can try a better DL zone still require path to it is lesser crowed or better then current steam DL zone.

I switched to australia melbourne and it's working, but same as op I went through a list of things to fix the issue with no result.
Edit: Also using win11

Same issues here. did literally everything in their support page of how to fix. Nothing as of now worked.

Edit: i even checked if it was being blocked by firewall and its not. also i am on Win11 as well.
