Something that I like to do on new computers, or on old computers that are starting to show crashes, is to run memtest86+ for a while (like, over night): https://memtest.org/
Note that ANY error, even if it's just 1, is a hardware defect that cannot be ignored.
While this does not "test" graphics hardware, and focuses on RAM testing (which, btw, is what caused the latest series of crashes on my box... a RAM module that has gone bad over the years, for some reason), it's generally a test that also tests what happens if the CPU runs at 100% for an extended period of time. If the box passes the test, I know it's a reasonably decent foundation.
Other reasons for bluescreens can be bad drivers.
Note that this is very different from games crashing. If its just a game that crashes, the fault usually just lies with the game in some way or another.
