Rockstar Games Activation Key Issues!

I recently bought L.A. Noire, Come to find out that I needed to download the Rockstar games launcher of which I did.
I signed up, Looked on the Rockstar game launcher found L.A. Noire and it says buy for $19.99.

I bought L.A. Noire from steam, And now I hear that I need a activation key to type into the Rockstar games launcher.

In game mode I went to my steam library found L.A. Noire right clicked using R2 nothing happens. I also went into desktop mode right clicked and there is no option for me to find the activation key.

You dont need a activation key for the Steam version.
You download and install the game on Steam. You download and install the Rockstar Social Club client.
You make an account in Rockstar Social Club. In the settings you link your Rockstar Social Club account with your Steam account.
Then when you start LA. Noire the first time on Steam it will ask you to login to your Rockstar Social account if you dont have already.
If you are logged in it will ask you if you want to link the Steam version of LA Noire to your Rockstar Social account.
Confirm and thats it, when you now start LA Noire on Steam it will automatically also open the Rockstar Social client and then start the game.
No activation key needed.

the directions should be on the rockstar website. all linking is done on their end, not steams

Yes I created a rockstar social club account and it does not automatically start LA Noire, It says that I need to pay $19.99 when I already bought LA Noire from steam

While I generally second the notion to ask in more appropriate forums -- if you bought the game on Steam, then launch it from Steam.

There's got to be some connection between Rockstar and your Steam account, but it should guide you towards establishing this.

Ok here's where I went wrong, I was logging into the rockstar social club alone without starting LA NOIRE 1st, Then go to sign into rockstar social club.
The game runs fine now😮‍💨

Well, at least everything was fine in the end.
In the future you know how to handle games from 3rd party clients like Rockstar, Ubisoft, EA and such, they all work in this fashion where you need a account with those clients if you want to play the Steam version.
