Controller Speaker is using audio

my controller is connected to my pc through a usb. my headset is connected to my controller. all of my audio (discord, firefox, games and so on) is coming through the speaker on my controller. i cant hear any audio through my headset and im using a ps4 controller on windows 10. is there a solution to this

Have you tried plugging in the Headset into the computer instead?

the thing is is that my pc is too far away, so if i was to put the headset in the pc i couldnt sit down

Click the speaker icon at the bottom right and see if you can change the output to your headset. If it's not listed there, right click the speaker>Sounds>Playback>Choose your headset if you can see it. You can right click the selected output and hit "test" to make sure you're choosing the correct output. If you don't see your headset listed in sounds, right click empty space within sounds and choose "Show disabled devices" and it might show up. Hope this helps
