Does steam work on a Chromebook with Linux
I am trying to play football manager on steam with my acer Chromebook 314, should I be able to launch, or will it not work

Your device is not on the list of supported models of Chromebooks.
You could try, but your results may not be satisfactory.

Is there a turning I could do or try to make it work?

It's a very low powered Chromebook. Even if it does work, i suspect you won't enjoy the performance of the game on that Chromebook.

Install a Linux on that Chromebook, install the Linux version of Steam.

That’s what I’ve done so far. Not sure if it’s Linux version of steam though

It’s only supported on specific ones for a reason.

Surely football manager isn’t demanding?

Please try another, less demanding game for troubleshooting purposes.

Eyeballing the Football manager 2024 specs, and doing some rough compares of the hardware, he should be above the minimums. I mean I don't disagree try other games or less demanding games, it's good trouble shooting. But while the Chromebook in question is extremely low end, it may not matter because the minimum requirements of the game are even lower.

However other issues relating to compatibility may be the issue rather than it being a pure hardware not good enough issue.

OP is a novice and they've given themselves a multiple-pronged issue to try and resolve and aren't very willing to dot the i's and cross the t's. Like a lot of users they seem to be hoping someone has a magic wand to wave and fix their issue.

This is my first time using steam and such because I normally play on console. I have been looking for solutions for all most a week now, and the only thing I haven’t tried is asking the community. Steam support or football manager support offered no help wha so ever. I appreciate your help because I’m pretty clueless
