disconnect rockstar account

Hi all,

I need your advice. I have rockstar account connected on my steam. But this rockstar account waas stollen to me long time ago. And now i tried solve it.

After repeatedly contacting their support I am at a dead end. I don't have enough details for the account to be returned. It was stolen from me a really long time ago. I don't mind and I understand. But they refuse to even just disconnect the account from my working steam account. This means I can't even purchase their game again to play it.

Is there any way I can disconnect it here on steam? I didn't find any such option. How to do it? How to get rid of them?

Nope. This whole linking bizz is uni-directional. Your Steam account gets used to identify a Rockstar account, that's pretty much it. Rockstar is using your public account token, so to speak. You can always buy the game on question on the Rockstar store directly, using a different account.

Even if you remove the linking and the copy of the game from your account, you can not buy another and link it to a new Rockstar account.
You must regain your Rockstar account if you want to play that game again.

Same ♥♥♥♥ with at least EA and undoubtedly Ubisoft. It does seem these publishers and Steam should go sit around a table at some point and design a way around that nonsense.

Even if the publisher could like people to re-buy on their store, it's usually the case that that'll have to then be using a second publisher-account, that a significant portion of people would just not do that anyway, and in any case that this reflects very badly on the publisher's infrastructure; I've basically never heard people blame Steam for it (and rightly so).

And let me by the way add that it's the reason I simply flat-out refuse to buy EA and Ubisoft and (ever since it's a thing for them as well) Rockstar titles.

It is not possible. roxkstar support is not support, but part of problem. I fully respect that I cant take back it. But please why the cant delete it or unlink it. Not possible do anything.

of course. I know this. i tried communicate with them for few weeks. If you cant log in, you cant unlink it. If you havent many details about things from deep past, you never reach help from support. I am their prisoner.

Because the linking is done on Rockstars end and it's a one way street in that regard. There is nothing on Steams end to unlink since there is nothing stored in that regard.
