Stuck on 'Loading User Data'

I was playing Remnant 2 with a friend and I was booted off the match to the main menu, after attempting to start the game back up in online mode it would simply kick me out, I restarted my Computer and now I have a bigger issue.

Steam Client will not login on my account.

I have tried the following with no luck:
- Changing internet connections. (Used Hotspot on phone, got same loop)
- Restarted PC (Several Times).
- Disabled then re-enabled Firewall settings for Steam.
- Uninstalled then Re-installed Steam.
- Ran Steam as Administrator.
- Cleared cache using run commands.
- Logged into my Steam Account on MULTIPLE PCs (Had a friend in another state log out of his and log out of mine and he got the loop. Also logged in on my laptop, still stuck.)

- This is not a Network, Hardware compatibility or a installation issue this is an account issue.

I can login to the steam website, have created a support ticket (they take forever) with no issue.

Any of you ever experienced this before? Any remedies?

Same here!! Along with all the things OP's mentioned, I also removed all local user data and tried running it in compatibility mode, with no luck.

EDIT: Now even my SteamDeck is stuck on the same state, "loading user data..." forever.

Same issue, I did upgrade my router firmware and this started happening so I am not sure if that's the cause. But it seems like a majority of users are running into this similar issue. I am getting this error on both my steam deck and desktop computer so its something network/server related.

I and Other steam user here have notice this from other steam user.

( actual require client load, this is not possible here )

Do not have Familyshare view on,

Delete clear webcache
Clear Download cache

so whats left, try steam flush cmd ( google it )
other way delete steam userdata in roming hidden windows user data area.
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Steam

make steam ticket because we do not know what cause this.


Do not see this as a fix even if it work, because what cause this and why it get stuck and with what can happend again. ( just because i and other tech person know the diffrence with clean install or get ride of past whatever it is that cause this, so things work is a total diffrent matter )

Do not have any special steam.exe cmd or old steam - special option on steam.exe

and we are still not support here. ( if it help i do not have this, but so can many other steam user say i bet ) atleast you know, it work for others ) such things matters sometimes so you know why few many as you now have a issue with it.

maybe wipe hes own user data is the only way out of this. ( this is steam support area and we do not know if steam login server with fetch data has a issue with you. ) and with what ?

Dont forget we could just reply contact steam support and make ticket. ( OP did good debug of it ) and whats left to try.

Do not ruleout old advice like reinstall steam over current steam installation, or rename steam.old to .exe again to redo the update progress, problem is still dont solve what cause this and if it can happend again.

( those advice is seen as ancient, but sometimes they work )

OP you should know , it look like lost connection into game server, and why things happend and only you know if OWN ISP had a hickup or planned work, we cant help you with that if thats the case,

some ISP have SMS service to tell own customer if service is down, and why you afterwards got steam login issue, i cant tell if this is your ISP or ISP partner that has a issue , but traffic into steam or game server seem to be effected. most will say steam backup server should kick in if this is steam max 10minute after , problem is will not help you if its own ISP and there partners.

most ISP problem today is fixed with few hours to 24 hours, you need to be remote location for longer isp issue downtime.

Hi guys, I think the issue is from the account it self. Those that are affected are recommended to inform to support team for them to assist us in this. I checked through other thread as below:

It seems one of them contacted to the support team for help and manage to resolve it. I pray you all get your account back and able to use Steam as normal.

I have the same issue, my Steam client is stuck on the 'Loading User Data' screen when starting up. I've tried using other computers and different networks, but encountered the same issue. However, when I log in with other accounts, everything works fine. I am pretty sure it has to be an account-specific problem.

I tried contacting support, attaching the link of this thread, and their first answer was to claim that it was something related to my network. I've answered adding more information to the ticket with some screenshots of this thread and the other one that was mentioned here as well.

Let's hope for some actual investigation and help. In case they resolve the issue and Im able to get more info on the solution, I'll post in here as well.
