Family View activates when I start Steam VR

As title. The only thing is I've disabled Family View! I did it in the desktop app (Windows) and again online as it didn't seem to have realised on the web that it was disabled. I log into Steam (web, desktop) and there is no sign of Family View. Setting say it's disabled.

Fire up Steam VR and my store is greyed out. No Family View icon appears (desktop or within VR), but I can't access the store. If I try to click on it (desktop) I'm told that Family View is active and I need to send a request for access. If I do so, I get an error message "An error occurred. Please try again later (15)"

On VR if I try to access a game store shortcut I get taken to the right page for a second or so then it redirects to a page with "parental/blocked" in the URL.

As soon as I close SteamVR, the store become available again.

I have logged out of web and desktop. I've uninstalled Steam VR and reinstalled, same for the Steam client on the headset (Quest 2).

Any suggestions? It's rather annoying!

Pretty sure this is an intentional concession they made so it would be allowed on Meta's store, usually app stores have a rule that no 3rd party stores can be downloaded from their store so the only way Steam was allowed to have the app at all is to disable store functionality when using Link.

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm a whole adult with no one else associated with my account, so I thought it was weird. Super annoying. Reply above makes sense but no idea why more people haven't asked about it!

Ugh, like OraKill I can see the "logic" here, but surely a redirection to a page _telling_ people this would be more useful than what currently happens? As it stands, there's a big wall of apps and games being touted in the SteamVR "welcome room" that you can't access within the environment, so they may as well not be there.

Likewise I'm surprised more people haven't raised this. I can't find anyone else with a similar issue, or a news story about it which is why I posted here. Thanks for the responses.
