steam client download

I have a strange problem with steam , when i want to install it on any linux distro it starts downloading steam(about 350mb) but the download never ends, it keeps going down like from 100 to 50 then 70 to 40 mb and never ends, i tried installing it from different sources but it happens every time,any solution for this bug ?

Just wait it out. It downloads newly discovered dependencies recursively.

After downloading more than 3gb i gave up, its a never ending download
