Do you mean to close steam app and reopen it?
It does not work.
I get this message.
Product Already Owned. This steam account already ownes the product associated with this activation code. Click OK to proceet to installation
But i do not get an OK button, just a Try again button.
Sorry but it does not show the game that it is attached to the key.
Does the name of the game apear in the Package column after aprox 30 mins ?
And if the result is - not yet activated, it means that it can still be activated by a friend?
(example "steam://install:730")
Not all cd-keys are steam keys.
Otherwise if you want your friend to activate a game, give them the key and stop testing it yourself. All you're gonna do by testing the keys yourself is use them up and complain and ask about whether Valve can transfer games you "accidentally" activated. They can't and won't.
In short stop trying to complicate a simple system.
Alternatively you can do a better job documenting the keys you have laying around. Presumably you knew what it was at one time. Maybe you thought you'd never forget. Try to remember the proverb, "The faintest ink is worth more than the sharpest memory."
If the bot doesn't take it due to already owning it, that means the state is the same as before. I.e., it it was not yet redeemed, yes, it can still be; see the "What happens to the keys?" bit on that SteamDB page.
It worked.
I had to wait for 30 mins, and it showed the name of the game in package.
Thank you,
