Steam Desktop Icons keep changing to white

Hi, so I have a problem.

All my desktop icons from steam games keep changing to white internet explorer icons (it's really only the steam icons - EA icons and system icons for example are perfectly fine) and I can't change it back. I've already looked for a solution but nothing I tried worked. All I could find is that Steam is having this problem since at least 2016 (like what? bro, this is seven years).

However, is there anything I can do except placing them again over steam? I've done that like four times in the last two months and it's getting on my nerves.
