What are the minimum requirements for a steam review?
I thought it was 5 mins playtime but it doesn't seem to be that anymore if it was previously.
I just wanna leave a bad review before I get this game that won't launch refunded.

You can only review a game you currently own on your account AND have at least 5 minutes of playtime.

Both conditions must be met.

10 minutes, I figured it out, it was 10 minutes. I launched the game 1000 times to get a few seconds at a time of playtime so I could leave the negative review (titanfall 2, it doesn't launch because EA's extremely unwelcome DRM is bugged out.)

It is only 5 minutes. Otherwise, there wouldn't be thousands of reviews with 0.1 hours of playtime in the store.

it wouldn't let me at 5 mins, the millisecond I hit 10 it did.
They probably changed it recently. Maybe after the overwatch 2 launch, in an attempt to protect awful companies like blizzard from the consequences of their actions.

It's 5 minutes, a friend of mine just made a review after 6 minutes of playing a game.

Nope isn't a helpful reply actually. I promise you 100% my experience was that it wouldnt let me at 5 but did at 10. It wouldn't let me at 9, at 8, at 7, at 6. I refreshed, logged in and out. The instant I hit 10 mins I saw the review button pop up. So something else is happening if it's 5 for other people or other games. my experience was clear and extensive in this example. There's another factor at play here.

Did you go to the store page or library to wait for the review box?

library

That's why. It takes longer for the review box to show up in your library. Go to the store page next time to see it after 5 minutes.

It's kinda weird that Steam lets you review a game with 5 mins of gameplay. It actually makes review bombing much easier due to the refund policy.

I'd say increase the gameplay time for reviews to 5 hours.

Forcing people to choose between a refund and a review is heavily enti-consumer.

Besides, why should we need to run the game an arbitrary amount just because some people have issues with it?

If people want to review bomb, they'd idle the game anyway.

A good review system ensures that no reviews are fake, but people can review for any reason they want. If people were creating fake accounts, buying a game, leaving a review, then refunding it and never using the account again, that would be a problem.
Telling when they are or are not allowed to dislike a game is not a good review system. Titanfall 2 earned my bad review despite me not having played it by implementing aggressive DRM that literally prevents me, a paying customer, from even playing the game at all.

1. One of my favorite games of all time was an indie game with a story lasting about 4 hours. You saying I shouldn't be able to leave a review?
2. SAM exists. I don't know if it still works, but it used to be possible to run multiple instances of a game to rapidly idle playtime. I've seen profiles that had 1000 hours recent playtime in a week.

Yeah but they know they won't be getting their money back. So it is less likely that they will buy the game again on a different account to review bomb again. Because then it would start to cost them way more. It is not anti-consumer, it is preventing toxicity.

I think this problem exists already (buying on different accounts and refunding).

Then 3 hours, anything that is above the refund time.
