Microsft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition is Supposed to be 40% Off...but isn't

I was planning on buying MSFS 40th anniversary Premium Delux edition for $71.99 today because it's on sale for the anniverary through today. So i was planing on loggin in and buying it but about 40 minutes ago the store pages kept crashing and i couldn't login or even access the MSFS 40th game page on steam from any pc, mac, or browser. Now the store issue seems to be fixed, but the Sim has gone back to the regular price of $119. I sent a message to support but i'm not sure what to do at this point. If i wait and they don't respond until tomorrow they may say "Nothing we can do the sale date already passed..." but i could just go ahead and buy it at full price with the expectation that customer service will make it right when they get to the support request and issue a refund. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Doesn't seem to be much i can do except decide to buy it or not but would love some advice or tips on elevating a support request if possible. Thanks!

you are out of luck.
Unless it's still in your cart for the price on sale (72hr grace period), you won't be able to obtain the sale anymore. Steam support cannot assist in getting sales that you missed out on due to technical issues.

Sales by default end at 10AM PST unless set differently by the Developer. Don't wait until the last minute as people slam the servers with last minute purchases which can cause issues.

So it doesn't mean all day.

Well that sucks as it wasn’t written anywhere in the main sale announcement from the developer or on the steam page for the game. Only stated the date.
