Can't create an account for my friend

I was setting my friend up with a steam account and it keeps saying "Your response to the CAPTCHA appears to be invalid. Please re-verify that you're not a robot below. (reference ID: 4020087571711574319)" The green check mark appears for the captcha, but it will not allow her to create an account.

Are you creating an account on the web? If so has been reported a few times with Chrome, I believe exclusively. Remember at least one that reported Opera to work in this case but could be that just anything other than Chrome/Chromium does.

Note also that the client "is a custom version of Chromium" so if you're using that rather than a browser -- still maybe try a different browser.

Not quite. This has been going on for a while and the common denominator are browser plugins. It seems that Chrome users specifically tend to install a heap-♥♥♥♥-ton of those and some do in fact interfere.

Okay. Does remind me of an issue a short while ago where some people couldn't get past the Rockstar Games Launcher (also CEF-based) due to captcha.

Anyways then: if client try web, if web try either disabling a plugin or 2 or with a different/clean browser outright.
