Loading user data

I was logged in on steam earlier today and closed it because I was having issues trying to get some games to start updating.

Now I’m unable to get into my steam client. It will not go further than “Loading user data…” after I enter my login details and approve the login on the iPhone app.

I created another steam account to troubleshoot, and I have 0 issues logging into that new account.

I’ve also completely uninstalled steam, rebooted, and then reinstalled it only to have the same issue occur.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm having the exact same issue. I can log in on my son's account and it loads fine, but mine won't get past "loading user data". I have tried everything you have. No joy.

ME too...kinda' relieved I am not the only one. I took my computer to a full restore to factory and reloaded steam, reloaded KF2 and still....same issue. I get a "bug splat " window pop up when game goes to load in.

So as a follow up to this, I got a hold of steam support and they had to do an account refresh on their end.

Everything worked fine after that.
Hopefully this helps others :)

Hopefully they will be able to resolve mine too and the others...Quite sad to have this experience to all of us

how did you manage to get a hold of support? I've been having this problem for coming up on three days now and I'd love to actually have someone help me instead of having my support tickets ignored.

I am having this same issue too, they have just sent me the canned response to check my network as they think it is an issue with that rather than refreshing my account.
I even included a link to this forum post which was ignored.

A fix for this that i have been told works is booting your PC offline, Opening Steam and then turning on your wifi/ethernet

It only gets you into your account, not able to play games
