Steam Overlay keeps closing existing browsers [SOLVED]
For the last month, I've had this recurring issue. Whenever I open browser tabs in my Steam Overlay, they will not stay open once I've closed my overlay. Opening the overlay again gives me a brief quarter-second glimpse of my previous browsing session before the entire window abruptly closes and I need to restart my browsing session.

This seems to occur regardless of:
- Application (DX11/12, Vulkan, etc.)
- Resolution (tried 1440p, 1620p and 2160p)
- HDR enable/disabled
- Exclusive Fullscreen or Borderless

In the passed month, I haven't had any changes to my setup's hardware or running software. Windows 10 and NVIDIA Drivers are up to date. Anyone else running into the same issue? Could this be a result of a recent Steam Client patch? Any solutions?

SOLUTION:
There's an option in your Interface settings called "Restore my previous browsing tabs when starting a game" that needs to be enabled. It makes no sense since that should only effect web sessions stored between play sessions, but apparently it affects the storage of web sessions while you're playing as well. I don't know if it was a bug caused by a previous update, but I'm just leaving the setting on in the meantime.

Toggle HW acceleration for web views and restart Steam.

"GPU accelerated rendering in web views" was already enabled. I disabled it, restarted my Steam Client and checked my Steam Overlay in Project Zomboid. Issue still persists.

I was having this issue too. In the patch notes of the new steam update, they said they fixed it. I have updated it, and it worked for me.

open steam and click "steam" at the top left, and then click "check for steam client updates". this should do the trick.

I actually fixed it before the most recent update. I just forgot to put the solution here.
