You will need to provide proof of ownership.
Because it was an old credit card that has been discarded by now
Archive everything and delete later on what you don't need.
Steam emails aren't proof of ownership.
He wasnt the type to keep those around, as i looked through his email for any steam related thing, and we cant look that far into the past when it comes to transactions apparently, as the only thing ive been able to find was something about the card number itself, you know when you look into you steam buying history, where it displays it was bought with that card that ends on this number **XX something like that, i dont know if that it has any relevance to it, seen as i cant see the whole thing
all i want to know is, those 3 little numbers at the back of someone's card does it matter if, the card itself is under the same name but the numbers themselves are different, seen as it is a new credit card and all that?
that was a couple years back though so not sure if things have changed. have you filed the support ticket already? if not make sure it has as much viable information as you can fremember
You'll have to provide the information requested or work with them for alternatives if you don't have it. Random alternate information (like a different CC) isn't going to do anything for you. Don't substitute, because invariably you'll just be frustrated when they reject your substituted IE incorrect information.
At a certain point if you don't have enough information to prove the account is yours, they won't restore it to you. So all you can do is do your best and not try muddle things in attempt to get the account back at all costs. You're also not the first time someone has lost account details and needs to recover it so instead of worrying about what-ifs just go through the process and see where you land.
