Looking for a specific multiplayer god game
There's this game that popped in my mind that I used to play on Steam years ago. Basically there was this whole galaxy that each player could go through and pick an unoccupied solar system. Then you'd click on an asteroid field of your chosen solar system and start a mini game where you'd click on undesired meteors containing certain material to remove them and let the others hit the planet until you had your own planet. From there you'd basically start a civilization of your race. Does anyone know the name of this game? I remember it was hidden on Steam and you could only see it by changing settings on your account

Doesn't come to mind. Sounds like a sim game though.
And if you did play it on steam your games recently played list would have it.
Additionally you might have wishlisted and followed it's steam store page or forums.
Where there any specific hero characters?(Names we could google)
Species unique to THAT game or was everyone human?
What was the money called? Was it 'ore' or 'something-bucks'? Perhaps you could find it that way.

There was no race specifically but you had an overview of your planet with statistics, every building you built would appear like a block with picture in it on the planet. You could see your population as well the goods it produced and you could of course like fly to other solar system owned by other players and view their planets.

I know I'm quite a bit late, but the game you're looking for might be "Gods and Idols" by Viking Tao
