reserving space in download

Someone help me! new to the game :/
I downloaded GTA V to my pendrive, but instead of downloading it, it says "reserving space" this equates to the same size of the game. the download itself is not doing. Someone give me some light please.

That is normal, it reserves space to make sure it can finish the download and install without running out of space. This can take a few seconds or somewhat longer, depending on your game, the CPU and the drive involved.

USB thumb drives are not exactly known to be well suited for such tasks as their IO capability is usually abysmal.

Barely good enough to write data, but processing it like Steam downloads, that is where they really crap the bed.
