Code 88 steam authenticator error

So I'm trying to add the authenticator so I can just sign in with the qr code and it keeps giving me the error code 88 we are unable to add this account message.

Sorry for my bad english, the solution was to correct the time on the phone, select automatic network settings.

Did you ensure all your device have the CORRECT time? If not sync it to the internet to your time zone, just use automatic it will do the work for you.

Disable VPN/Proxy as that can affect your time.

Eine der Lösungen ist sehr einfach, ich hatte das gleiche Problem und es hat funktioniert:

Datums- und Uhrzeiteinstellungen des Geräts (also vom Handy)
Auf „Automatisches Datum und Uhrzeit“ auswählen, das hat mein Problem gelöst.
