Changing password is such a pain
I've tried changing my password via my steam app and it only shows some form error like 3x and then I get a pop-up saying I've tried this too many times. Try again later.

So I contacted steam support via the app where you put in your username, email, and phone number- which has no captcha tick box so you get a pop-up saying your captcha verification failed (dumb as hell), so I went to the steam webpage on my browser to tick the captcha, but to no avail, I only got an email today saying "My email is no longer being monitored." What? What does that even mean for this instance??

I also tried emailing steam support via email, they replied they had no way to verify proof that I'm the owner so I'm asked to send bank transactions for my steam wallet top-ups, except that they don't have all of them listed since the one I use (DANA) which is a e-wallet service from Indonesia.

Sending another request via webpage just says that I already have an ongoing request. God's sake just let me talk to a real person one on one. I just want to change my password ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Why go the detour through support? You don't need to change your password RIGHT NOW. As a matter of fact, you don't need to change your password at all, changing passwords for security is a myth that sounds good if you're corporate IT (read: brainless) but doesn't do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in practice.

So you're trying to reset it, not change it.

Well, then you need to provide proof of ownership through the existing request. Either that, or try again later. And in future, write your password down on a physical notepad. They're as hack-proof as things can be and effectively prevent forgetting.

Changing/Reseting password will cause a delay/restriction on trades

Recent Password Reset
If you forget your password and need to reset it (note: this is different than changing your password), you will be restricted from trading and the Community Market for 5 days. If your account has not had any activity for more than two months, these restrictions will apply for 30 days. We do this to help protect users who lose access to their email account.

You can change your password from the settings panel in the Steam Client. This restriction only applies to password resets, ex: done via https://help.steampowered.com or by Steam Support.

well, steam came through and after repling that I don't have bank proofs, they just sent me a message saying that they can confirm that I do have the account (after logging me out lmao) so they sent me a password to use, all's good. Cheers for the holiday.
