"Sorry! An unexpected error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again." Error when trying to refund failed purchases
Today, I was putting $25 into my wallet, and then it kept declining five times because my billing address did not match up with the one put on my bank account. I had to call my bank to file a claim to get my money back, but when I tried to request a refund via Steam support ticket, it kept giving me an error saying:
"We were unable to submit your refund request"
"Sorry! An unexpected error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again."

I've also tried contacting the support email, but it's now defunct.

I talked to my mother about this, and she just recommended I'd no longer use Steam because they're trying to scam me. I can agree with her.

Your bank most likely (with near-absolute certainty) did not send out your money, ever. Banks like to hold on to what they have as long as possible.

Thanks. My mom encouraged me that I should report this problem to my bank itself (because I think she doesn't know much about Steam itself), but I got my $1000 back (originally noticed it was around $800 when I opened up my acct, but got most of my money back after the claim.

I think the main reason why I was given this weird error is because of reason #2, but my money was gone as if the transactions have gone through despite me getting an error about mismatching billing addresses (I used the Steam Mobile app). It still seems shady to me.

How should I give my mom clarification?

She's aware of that, but I didn't know how to issue a chargeback. Aside from that, most of my issues are resolved aside from the strange transactions. Hence why she recommended I'd switch for Paypal instead when it comes to purchasing. Really sorry this is derailing/offtopic!!

I unfortunately am currently suffering through a similar dilemma, I just hope it doesn’t take long to receive my money back…hope it’s just three days and not near ten.:steamsad:
