Steam Points given recipient not received.

Contacted steam i had gifted my son past the 14 day time period & steam advises wait 14 days . Already did! today it's a bout a month now no points awarded. Anybody else have this issue ? Thanks.

yup did this already and it shows nill not sent and not received. Thanks. I am done gifting points to anybody . I have gifted so many people on fourms and it shows nothing sent . crap !

Steams idea of community sharing only encourages the opposite don't share points among others because steam only sends 1/3 of the sent points. Steam should just eliminate this option because it's thievery !!!!

Did you reset your password after sending the points?

I'm not sure if it still happens (it's been a while since I heard about it) but that would instantly cancel any points/awards given and refund them.

According to your Awards page, you've given out quite a bit with 36 awards, so there is a record of something happening:

Your Community Patron badge shows 360 points, which is in line with the number of awards given (10 pts x 36 awards), but nothing given since August 4th.

When you go to the Point's Shop summary page, there are other things to click that are not always as intuitive to see further details.

At the bottom there is a TOTAL REDEEMED in bold red and a VIEW DETAILS next to it. Clicking on the view details should cause a MATCHING EVENTS breakdown to appear at the bottom. That's a real time deduction as you redeem things is the Points Shop or place Awards on community content or profiles. One thing people miss is that the default view is only the past 90 days. You have to click on an often missed link "Previous 90 Days" to keep going further back in time by 90 days.

Considering your last award given seems to be back on August 4, you won't see that activity in the matching events initially. You'll need to view the previous 90 days to see it.

Thanks i understand that . the points were rewarded but only 1600 out of 4800 gifted . I have been on steam help communicating with them. Maybe i should open up a new topic about steam stealing points from people who gift others and only a 1/3 is sent .

!/3 of 4800 sent is 1600 . it has already been sent. not the issue anymore. it's steam stealing my points in the transition. where are the remaining points ? really it's okay i won't send anything to anybody anymore. if you fill up at the filling station and you pay 3.00 $ a gallon and only get !/3 of the fuel pumped . there is a issue .

Points needs to be consumed, otherwise you’d just have people gifting awards back and forth ad nauseam. Points are designed to be used

Why didn't you complain back when you were about to award people because it clearly tells you how many points the recipient will receive? Reading is not that hard...

First off it's not complaining. second my bad for assuming i could trust steam to do the right thing and never read the legal right under their twisted way to convince others this is fair. If the community wants to accept this kind of rhetoric of theft so be it. I won't

lol really is this their excuse ? who uses my remaining points taken ? nobody it's taken not used. did steam spend my $ to earn these points ? no so therefore it's my choice to spend them as i see fit. If it's such a issue to gift points to the point of stealing them in the transition then dis continue this option or better yet just remove the point system all together it's pointless .

Thats... literally how points word. You get 1/3rd of the point awarded.
So if you sent someone a 4800 points awards they get the award and 1600 points after 14 days.
Thats how the system worked since day one.
They dont get the full points because then the whole system would be (ha) pointless.
Everyone would just award each other endlessly without no loss in points overall.

okay thank you for the info it's greatly appreciated. that makes 0 sense . how do you gain points by sending them ? so what if people choose to send as many times as they wish it doesn't change the quantity other than steam taking them. so it's a penalized practice so therefore it's a pointless option dumb ! makes no difference how it was setup originally i am not conditioned to accept their dishonesty. why is it so important to lose points if one chooses not to use them. obviously there are tons of avatar options to spend points. it's flawed no matter how it is or was . it's called choice.
