Moving Countries

Hello,

I was born in the UK and set my account up in the UK. I recently moved to Malaysia and my account then displayed the currency in MYR and a 6% (rather than 12.5%) tax rate was applied to my purchases.

I've now moved back to the UK. The displayed currency on game prices is still in MYR. I don't want Steam to think I'm doing anything dodgy, and so how can I change everything back to my UK settings?

You can only switch store region once every 3 months. If it has already been three months, simply add a payment method registered in your current country ( so UK) to your account.
PayPal account, credit card, bank account, something like that.
Then buy ANY game, can be a super cheap one, does not matter.
Select the local payment method as payment and on the checkout page will be a dropdown menu to switch currency to the current region. Select your correct currency and then pay for the game.
It will switch your Steam account to the current payment region.

Thank you. It's been nearly a week since returning, however, I was in Malaysia over a year and immediately swapped regions when I moved (I'm not sure how). Do you think I'd still be allowed to buy games on the cheap, from the region I'm still registered to?

Well, technically there is nothing hindering you to continue to use your account in Malaysia as long as you have a local payment method from that country.
You cant use a British credit card or PayPal account though, the transaction will fail since store region and payment country registration does not match.
Valve recommends that if you stay for a longer time or move permanently to a new location you should switch to the correct region.

It's pretty simple: do your due dilligence and you'll be fine. If you've set your store region back when you moved back and Valve still insists in charging you in MYR, you've been honest and it's not your fault you get to pay on the cheap.
