Does marking a game as "Private" hide it from Family Share?
Steam just added the option to mark a game as "Private" and have it hidden to everybody else but you in almost every way possible. My question is whether or not it is hidden from the Family Share feature. I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the news update. I like to use Family Share with my friends that are new to Steam so they have access to classic games until they build their own library.

No. It took me a minute to check and I can still see the game i marked private on an alt account using a different PC. Neither PCs has the game installed either.

Unfortunate that it's that way. Seems like an oversight in my mind. I guess the devs that coded the Private feature likely forgot Family Share exists. (I often forget it exists too)

Is this still the case for the new Steam Families functionality that is being rolled out? It's not mentioned in the FAQ, but hopefully the fix they applied still works when this new featureset rolls out

It still stops private games from being shared in the beta. But with the new feature, you can choose what you want to share instead of marking private.

I don't see anything in the thread saying you can do anything of the sort but a lot of people, including myself, asking for a feature where you can share games with select family members

Just tested it again and Steam Family library shows games marked as private in the family library, but does not allow the game to be played
