Using Share button on PS4/PS5 Controller for Screenshots
Hi, I hope someone can help me.
I'm trying to bind the Share button on either the PS4 Dual Shock 4 or PS5 Dual Sense Controller to take a screenshot with Steam. I tried to set it in the controller settings, creating profiles in both Desktop or "Guided Button Chord", but nothing works. The controllers itself work fine, also in the testing menu. And the Shortcut with R2+PSButton also work, but in many games R2 has a function, which is not always intended in those situations I want to screenshot. Plus that is what the Share Button is used on console, would be great if I get it working here. I found some guides, but all of the are either very basic (like "PS5 controller no works!") or outdated.

Anyboy has any idea how I can get this working?

Edit the Guide Button Chord layout rather than Desktop:

You had performed similar to the gif? Was triggering it in-game with PS button + Share/Create?

I guess I have the same issue, I want to assign the screenshot button to the mute button on the dualsense and I editted the mute button in the guide/chord layout to take a screenshot but for some reason it doesn't work in games

If PS + Mute chord wasn't working then I'd believe you're connecting over Bluetooth.
If so: over BT the controller has to be in 'advanced mode' for the Mute button to function. Setting PlayStation Controller Support to 'Enabled' (not 'Enabled in Games w/o Support') will have Steam switch the controller to advanced mode.
Steam > Settings > Controller > PlayStation Controller Support

In advanced mode the controller is no longer compatible with DirectInput, so if you were playing a game using its native support and that game did so via DirectInput, the controller wont function. You could go via Steam Input or if you still wanted PS prompts/game's native support, go via a tool that can emulate a PS controller e.g. DS4Windows.

To get back to 'simple mode'/DInput-compatible, turn off the controller, set PS Controller Support away from 'Enabled', then can reconnect.

One way to have just Mute = Screenshot is to map it on a game's individual layout.

Ya I basically just want the mute button to be the screenshot key for all my games, I noticed that changing it manually for 2 of my games in the controller settings in big picture mode seems to do the trick but I don't wanna have to manually change it for ALL games, also yeah I do have the advance mode on and I connect my controller via usb not bt
