I dunno. Enough.

I use an MX518 from 2005. Looking it up, it has 16k max DPI.

Sounds like you have issue with mouse lag, and that tell most here you need higher then 3200dpi , most is 6400 or 7200 dpi now, so price on the mouse and what you can afford seem to be the choise here.

you do not want a old oudate 1600dpi on a highend gaming pc. ( thats 1+ decads ago that was highend mouse. )

i have a 7200dpi now, after that mx518 act odd.

Is it that hard to google mouse product what is made now this year or past years,
technicaly feel free to use a 3mouse ball mouse from 1980+ if you like that, not sure dpi and missing accuracy or its bulkyness will fit a modern gamers choise, not even sure it will work after so many years, but im sure there is older pc that has no issue with them.

Mouse has always been a personal issue, some have learn down the road that small and big hands and normal matter and then ergonomic mouse, because we tilt the hand in front of us.

I can only say we are at 5 button mouse now with scroll, imo, button ( 4 & 5 ) use to next or past page.

I have friend that got use to track ball mouse, i guess it depend on what you get use with and have room on the table.

ps.
Dont forget old rules with mouse, there is not a, "i dont work as i should warning", they either do or act odd or stop working, you only learn this then you replace it, or test with spare mouse.

I dont have mouse lag, and i reduced dpi to 800. So not sure what you talk about.
Mine goes up to 26000 dpi.

Mouse can do 26000 dpi but I keep it to 1000 dpi. Honestly I'd go much higher but most games can't lower sensitivity low enough to offset such a high dpi. @1200dpi a sens of 1 ingame is fine for me. Depending on the game I may tweak either but otherwise I stick to 1,200 dpi and 1 sens

Up to 12000 DPI. Won't ever get to use that level of DPI.

I use Logitech G502 Hero wired mice on my gaming machines.
100 – 25,600 DPI
I rarely ever use above 800 DPI- I don't play twitchy games like shooters and bullet-hell games, and I am using 2K monitors- 4K monitors may need a higher DPI. But I am unlikely to ever spend that kind of money for a monitor. I rarely need to go above 1K DPI. I have arthritis and slower reflexes- so a high DPI means (for me) my cursor is flying all over the place, and most games I play don't have great mouse sensitivity settings to counter a higher DPI.

If you are looking at a mouse and its main selling point is super high DPIs- IMHO- you are being sold something that you will likely never use or need. I love my G502 HEROs- because they last forever and take a real beating without breaking, not because I can set the DPI to ridiculous levels. The one i am using right now is over 5 years old, well past its guaranteed 1 million clicks, and the only thing that is starting to show signs of failure is the mouse wheel (a relatively common issue with this particular mouse- and not something I use for gaming very often outside of scrolling a menu).

Maybe you should ask other pro gamers, i dont care what you are using, we other do not use a mouse under 1600 thats outdated.

its years ago or a decad ago, mouse reach 1600 dpi.

i think we can write book in what other dont know here.
