DLL related launch issues

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. Running Windows 11 on a new built system.

I am suffering from an issue while trying to launch FFVII Remake Intergrade and it is an issue I have experienced previously with Hogwarts Legacy.

When trying to launch, the play button cycles, resets and nothing happens. Once I start trying to launch as Administrator, I start getting errors indicating a specific DLL file is either 'not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error'. After running through multiple troubleshooting guides for HL in the past including reinstalling C++ and graphics drivers etc I gave up and got a refund. The fact it's happening with another game is concerning.

I found a guide and a reputable site to download DLL files from. With the first error, the D3DCompiler_43 was indicating the error so I replaced it. Now the error message stated that X3DAudio1_7 is the issue so I replaced it. Now the same error message but for XAPOF1_5 which I haven't yet replaced as I'm starting to think this will keep going...

Has anyone had issues with certain games just refusing to launch based on DLL file issues? I've poured about 165 hours into BG3 lately so it is only affecting certain games. I have run an sfc scan which indicated there were corrupt files and these have been repaired, no fix. I have clean installed graphics card driver, no fix. Is it possible the launcher isn't looking in the right directory for the DLL files? Is there a way to change this?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

I hadn't heard of Windows N. Just running Windows 11 Home as far as I know.

If you aren't running Windows N, the cause for missing libraries is something else. Let's hope that you manually messing with system libraries didn't cause more damage (which it often does).

Install the DX runtime that came with an affected game. Verify the local game content, for starters, Steam then installs said runtimes itself. If that doesn't work, we'll see further.

According to them files you mention, that is GPU and Sound relateded.

You sure you have update board chipset Driver and BIOS. ( that include sound card driver if they have own support page or just board own support page )

Are sure you know what freshly install GPU driver mean, this is the way today then things go down at something..

I'm sure you can see a problem with you have a issue, then all other play FF.


XAPOF1_5 i cant ID this could it be a controll or part of sound.
a random google search seem to point at DirectX issue.

All this can still be related to win11 issue and Brand support GPU and Sound card driver is working as it should , ( MS dont make driver to other brand they are given to them from what ever board support or brand name pc support theyre is your culprint maybe.

Crappy driver that dont do its job.

we are sorry to hear your driver is not working, as if we have anything to do with that. )

This is user forum and we tell the best as we can as gamers here, you might know this, but we see alot ot dteam user that think we are support, and we are not.

Problem today is we have auto update app that DL and fix drivers & BIOS, this is why we dont ask anymore, update your pc double check own brand support. what if your app dont work.

DirectX ( not sure why you have issue with it, most dont see this anymore maybe that game dont like a driver and pop msg to its DirectX issue.

whatsout for validate game intergrity of file, they launch script install with m,aybe a older VC++ and then you have 2 entry of same, soem games dont like that. ( problem is old VC forced script that dont obey version up check, this is seen in older games i cant say FF has that then i dont own it. )

I have attempted to download and install DirectX end user runtime but it advises it already exists. I have used the verify local files option in Steam a few times to no impact so far.

I've also tried updating vcredist and it advises I do not require an update as it exists already. I've also used SFC scannow and DISM and unfortunately also did not resolve the issue.

You sure you have game requirements, i have seen VC++ simple use error code as user dont have what it takes, and through you to VA ++ code as not working, its a new way they can do with a old pc that dont have shader 3+ or something like that. i did not say you have this my a we have no clue on your pc spec here.

Its a nasty new way to tell user, i will call it a mistake , i will rather have app tell, what are you doing try run a game on that old piece of crap GPU card, are you on wrong pc. assume you can see logic in this try run a game on old 10 years old laptop.

It dosnot matter if you make a mistake we can all do that, but code whatever crash cant compute is not nice, you will only see this on next gen games.

Even fallout 4 did this, through in a hightexture DLC, and then crash alot, because game require change. you do the math run a game 6gb gpu card on a game that require 8gb card.

And if you look at FF they do same here from minimum to maximum.
double check own game requirements could be a good idea.

ohh sorry it was from 3gb vid card to 8gb.
such game can give user issue if you dont know or forget them over time, and run things on maximum.

It's a new AM5 build, Ryzen 7600x and RTX 4080 so it shouldn't be a hardware issue I hope!

Are you have a IGPU issue with main GPU card

We have seen this before. only you know if you have a onboard gpu card interference with system and why things

worst case enable it and update it , then again disable it in BIOS. ( this is to make sure board is update and then turn it off again. ( yes it sounds stupid, but many forget onboard device is still there on the board. )

i recall old pc with unknown device cause issue even turn off ( windows old exclamations pointer "!" ) so update things not needed is not logic. ( and yet it is, you still run a pc with its in the core aka board ) if this was plugin card im sure you will have removed it )

I don't mean "download and install", I mean "install specifically the one that came with the game".

Disabled iGPU in BIOS to no effect either.

hmm whats left windows event view log, why a app crash, and game own support they might want to know win11 issue with whatever that is causing this.
