User security issue! Steam doesn't ask for password anymore?!!
After some upates ago steam bypass login window and automatically log me in to the steam. How do you change it back? When I log off from steam and log in back it doesn't asks for name and password. I couldn't find any settings in privacy/security to steam ask for my user name and password before log me in to the platform

At the top left of the client, Steam > Change Account, agree to continue.

After it restarts, in the bottom right corner of your accounts avatar is 3 ... , click that and select Remove this Account.

Log back in.

If don't want Steam to auto login you in, don't have box check to remember, then you have to login each time.

If want account to be forgotten as soon you shutdown Steam client, just enable this settings that raw posted.

I have checked it, but it also says I won't able to use steam in offline mode, which is quite a big problem. As internet lost is quite common in my house (+crappy wifi). And in general I would like to play offline when I move somewhere outside with my device.

For starters that not possible as you can't launch the client into offline mode without being login to your account, and can't login via offline either hence have to be online to login. So got this to work you have to have your account remembered, and login to be able to do offline mode with the client.

Otherwise you can check if the game DRM free, and run it that way without needing to launch Steam, you can google for wiki pages for games that DRM free on Steam.

In previous version of steam you absolutely can log in to steam (after login pop up, where you fill your name and password) and if there no internet it will ask if you want launch steam in offline mode and you can play most of the games (especially singleplayer games) , while progress of games is saved localy.
When you reconnect with internet on - steam will ask if you want synchronize local save data with steam cloud next time you launch game in online mode.

That's how it always used to work

To login via offline with NO internet access you need to have steam remember your account from that start before doing offline, or losing internet access that how it always been, you can't login to any account as there no access to server because no internet access, no verify access, no account to record to remember on system hence the point.

Maybe you remember things wrong, or was using something else.
