Im' sure you know they had a most clear old data before release of game,
i and other is not support, we just rememeber things sometimes better, and i cant say its that either, but worth a thought to wipe all previous game data + cloud reset. that mean turn off cloud so new sava game data , i think it was they mention can teke over. somethink like that they explan from preload BETA BG3 files to Full release version, and if you did this then i cant help you ask own game support for that game.
DEVELOPER:
Larian Studios
PUBLISHER:
Larian Studios
Steam is not in control over other Brands product, yes it could be seen as a steam issue but not the way other might see it.
No its all good , i think it was specifik preload data or beta version,
and you still need to contact game devs. ( steam has no power there with what game devs did or mistake or odd bug like that.
- Yea I wasn't sure whether it was Larian or Steam. The latter seems clueless so I'll take it to the publisher. Weird that this didn't happen for previous patches.
but i still think its a bad mistake not have game devs have a chance to ID it first.
Dont ruleout ( google them cmd is you need to ) dont get caught in other pc issue, same as all drivers is update, most dont say things like that anymore, most have a Brand app that do that today.
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
SFC /Scannow
and VC++ check, i assume game use thirdpart app.
Should not be needed seem to doing it under the installations.
It's definitely verifying the files on it's own. However, since the last attempt to reset my DNS connection the game finally installed the update and looks good to go. I appreciate your help!
Make steam ticket, and ask game devs, if more user get this then we might have a new odd steam glitch.
any helper here will say we have never seen Validate game files fail like this before. with loop over and over, just like OP explan, atleast thats a start, and why we dont belive it,
I did not say steam has bug , but the more ppl start get this then we might have something
and 2 steam user is better then 1, now steam support will take it more serious, but you need to make the steam ticket.
