Updating Drivers?
I use NVIDIA to upgrade the GPU. I don't really have any program to ungrade other Drivers. AVG hits me up all the time to purchase their program.

I don't know about a free service as I figured it would be full of ads or something.

What do you guys use?

thanks

For nvidia drivers I use the GeForce Experience program that will automatically pull down new drivers as they're released. You can customize it to perhaps only tell you something new is available or automatically install it for you.

Geforce Experience & Intel® Driver & Support Assistant ; you dont need more, maybe check if your motherboard manufacture has a driver assistant, dont buy any garbage "Driver updater" ♥♥♥♥

What ever app that doing that, is not worth it , its known as aggressive marketing, cant say all know this, most nations or should i said humans , do not like this , you already lost the customer by doing it. ( but it most work on somebody ) and thats why they keep doing it.

Its odd you dont know whar app is doing it, why do you think we dont mentions them app anymore, that do aggressive marketing. they might be worth it before in older version but now they are been seen as not worth it anymore.

if you cant prevent them form auto startup , they are going, you dont need app that popup doing some other task thats the rule i think, or should i said my rule, ( im sure im not the only one that has that viewpoint )

Yow, I use GeForce Experience and have for years. My motherboard is an ASUS brand.

i7 9700 3.5
1080ti 11 vram
32 gb ram
SSD
2560 x 1440

I still get over 100 fps in the new WRC game that several are having problems with. Now I'm looking over the hood, not inside the interior.

I just downloaded Intel® Driver & Support Assistant

thanks

Pretty sure other here will say samething about that app, if it did not find anything now then you dont need it. or after its has update it , then you dont need it anymore.

yes thats how many of us see it, today , we dont need intel run at taskbar over years.
we can be ruthless also.

Intel® Driver & Support Assistant said: "No supported driver or software updates are available for your system."

Guess I haven't missed anything or they're all out of date, he.

Driver updates are generally sourced from the manufacturer only. Due to the nature of the software, you don't want to hand that off to a questionable 3rd party.

In my experience, only the GPU driver needs to be routinely updated. If you're upgrading you may need to get updated BIOS from the motherboard manufacturer. Beyond that there's rarely any update to get, and if there are any, the changes aren't that great.

Now when we built this computer a few years back "in the way back machine". My buddy who had a computer shop for years done some mild overclocking he called safe.

Would I have to change the BIOS if I upgraded something besides the GPU. I'm waiting on a GForce update now for the new WRC game.

thanks

Do not underestimat look them up yourself whatever ON board thirdpart Drivers. if you have issue.

could be realtek netcard drivers, or whatever you think you have a issue with.

ccleaner is also start to be persky, but sametime can also fix things we as user in the past did not know how to do it, but its here the aggressive marketing start to piss ppl off.

but we as pc user dont need to tell anything on ccleaner , most skill pc user know that app from the past. ( we simple turn off auto start ( problem solved )

I'm not having any problems with anything. I can't believe this 1080ti is still runs all my games no matter how new.. Spec's above ^

Just watching a race and asking questions.

thanks

Just make sure you know safe dont mean it is over many years, i have seen ram boost in BIOS as standard on old pc and years later they was not safe , all them updates and system got old or slow, then they crash. ( OC has a price ) no such things as run faster then it was build for if you get issue later with a pc.

( And we dont need to tell anyone here, whats factory default is, there is a reason it was made like that. )

I'm looking at new parts to build a new computer or maybe find a good deal around Black Friday. There's just a lot of new powerful stuff coming out or being developed. Yow, it's always been that way. But it's advancing fast these days, now how long it takes to get to market is another story.

I've got an order to NASA for a new Quantum Computer. They said it would be a while.

The CPU, maybe. It doesn't hurt to get an updated BIOS before upgrading just to make sure it'll cover any newer hardware.

The 1080ti is still a great card as long as you're not looking to get into ray-tracing tech or above 1080p resolution.

You'd most likely need some driver updates for something like that.

I have 32" 1440p Monitor I use on 1440p. runs great.

I heard a story the other day on CNBC, just caught the last of the story. AMD was saying they have a new chip coming out that's 2.4 times faster than their current chips. I'm an Intel guy, but who kmnows.

And no, I don't care about ray-tracing tech.
