Is the rtx3060 video card suitable for the i5-9400f processor?

Sure, but I would suggest 4060 if want all the new features for dlss, otherwise if that doesn't matter, then sure go for 3060 as long it lot cheaper, but if it close, or same price might as well get newer card IMO.

I don't think that would be a great idea tho.

Both cards are a bottleneck by the cpu, if OP looking to get new GPU, better get something that be worth later, instead of missing newer feature, and OP could either upgrade to i7 9700, or get new cpu, mb, and ram if it ddr5.

But if OP want the best bang for buck, save up to replace whole system, and get what best at the time with the money saved up at the said time.

I fully disagree with the notion that you need an i7 or better than an i5-9400F to use a RTX 3060 or even the 4060 (which uses less "juice" and memory than the RTX 3060 as a matter of fact).

Sure, a better CPU does have a very signficant impact on FPS, but if you play on a 1080p screen, the RTX 3060 or 4060, with an i5-9400F, will give you well above 60 FPS for almost all games (except some badly designed ones like Starfield, sigh).

i5 9400f did not bottlenecked rtx 3060 12gb in my system, but only tested in rocket league, rdr2, and wwe 2k23, after upgrading from rx 570 4gb, i was able to get 60 fps at ultra in rdr2 while i was getting 50-60 fps with rx 570 at medium settings, in rocket league it boosted between 100-150 fps(ultra), so.. 3060 looks not that risky at all in my opinion

Hey, isn't both RTX 3000 and 4000 series share all the recent features?

Edit: Also, I would assume it will be a lot cheaper to get a 3060 too, since it would get sort of a decent sale compared to the 4060.

Kind of, but 40 is made for frame generation, and out perform 30 in dlss, but for raw power performance that be to 30 series.

And yes it should be cheaper than 40 series.

Helloo! What PSU do you have 550w or 600w? And RAM? I have 16gb ram 2400mhz, i5 9400f and im wondering if the ram will be an issue.

f cpu has no igpu, so any gpu is required

3060 is an entry level grade gpu for gaming

3060ti and 4060 are stronger even with less vram

system ram speed will make little difference

ok thanks bro. Cheers!

I had a 3060ti on my old I5-4670k last year. Just make sure your psu is good enough and clean your fans as your cpu will run hotter.

The data is correct but can be misleading.
It’s 1080p in old games. At 1440p and/or newer games the 4060 will be the bottleneck.
This CPU can still provide 60-120fps in many games.

I have 650w but 600 would be enough too as i believe, and the guy is right i had 16 gb 2400 mhz too when i buyed 3060

Thank you bro. I really had some second thoughts about buying this card, but now i will sure buy it with this system i have cuz i will not use it in gaming to much, i just dont wanna experience driver timeouts from AMD anymore:))
Have a nice day!
