Limited Account Help
I would like to add 20 dollars to my other Steam account that is limited to of course make it unlmited then buy CS:GO skins and trade them back to this account. Would I be able to access the market right away or would I have to wait?

You would have to wait. Also to unlock the market you'd have to purchase a game from the Steam store and wait 30 days.

What is the purpose of doing it though? Why not just buy them on your current account?

Because I wanted the account to be a non-limited account.

To sell items on that other account, you would have to wait 30 days after a purchase is made on the Steam Store or money added.

Even once money is added the Steam store purchase is still required to access the market.

As I understand it, adding funds via credit card or PayPal, basically anything that is not a wallet card, qualifies as a purchase for the purposes of the community market.

I agree that's what it says but based on what I see here on these forums (people adding money, waiting 30 days and then still being restricted from using the market), the purchase is still required.

Adding wallet funds via the Steam Store with a bank card or PayPal does count as a valid purchase but if they add funds via a wallet code, will they have to then buy a game of any value on top.

That's correct.

No after you added money to your Wallet, a Steam Store purchase isn't required to access the Market. As you can see, this here explains what will remove a Limited User.

That's for limited users. Everyone is required to have a valid purchase on record that's older than 30 days but not 365 for continued market access. A valid purchase doesn't mean you have market access for life. Adding wallet funds of $5+ through the Store or a wallet code will make grant unlimited access but a valid purchase from the Steam Store itself either adding wallet funds by card or buying a game is the only way to access the market.

Steam Support You must have a valid Steam purchase that is between 30 days and a year old with no recent chargebacks or payment disputes

Purchase Limitations
Your account must have a successful purchase older than 30 days, but not older than a year in order to access the Community Market. The purchase of wallet funds, games, DLCs and software meet this requirement. Retail CD key activations and gift purchases do not satisfy this requirement.

Correct. But we aren't talking about the OP's main account. We're talking about the OP's second account here. Which is limited. So once he spends $5 by the Steam Store, or adding funds that is = to $5, then the 30 day count down starts.

@Everyone Thanks for the help, I decided to just go ahead and put it on the account and buy a cheap game.

If it's limited; he can add $5+ but if he adds money via a wallet code; he still needs a valid purchase from the Steam Store which can be of any value and once that's made; the 30 day restriction begins. If he adds $5+ direct through the store; that counts as a valid purchase without the need to buy a game.

Basically; if a user doesn't have access to the market because they don't have a purchase on record that's 30 days old; adding wallet funds by wallet code regardless of the amount wont work.

Hence why this post is incorrect. I could have a limited account; add $500 to it with a wallet code to become unlimited but until I have a valid purchase from the Steam Store i.e a game; I wont be able to access the market whatsoever until I do this and then waited a full 30 days.

The OP's second account is limited, clearly started at the top. "my other Steam account that is limited".

So if you read the info in the link provided, it states this.

How do I gain access to these features?

- Adding the equivalent of $5 USD or more to your Steam Wallet

- Purchasing game(s) that are equal to $5 USD or more from the Steam store

- Adding a Steam Wallet card that is equal to $5 USD or more to your Steam account

- Purchasing a Steam gift that is equal to $5 USD or more from the Steam store (Receiving a Steam gift from a friend doesn't count)

Based on that, a purchase of any value isn't needed since it say it isn't in the link.
