Low FPS on old game

I have a good PC that runs modern games very well, but when I want to play old games the FPS drops to around 4. I just bought Robin Hood: Legend Of Sherwood to get a taste of my childhood and when I try to play its really bad with 4 FPS. Does anyone know whats up and is there a way I can fix it? Thanks

All games run like butter on a hot knife, but when it comes to old games such as Robin Hood: Legend Of Sherwood, my PC turns into a potatoe and the FPS are at 4 if not less.

Yeah I got that. But it's interesting that you say "old games" but only mention one specific game. Twice now. If you could name other games, it might be easier to track down the problem.
