And where/who exactly did you get this wallet code from?

It can take up to 24 hours for a code to be activated. If after that timeframe the code still doesn't work, take it up with the shop where you bought the code. Take your receipt (you kept that, right?) and demand the card to be activated or replaced.

I got it from Rite-Aid

Have you bought steam cards from this rite-aid before? Many places have these cards but do not know how to activate them (or at least their employees don't) and simply scan and charge, you do need the receipt to get a replacement or have it activated, If you don't you are SOL.
