Unable to load steam ssl pages both chrome and firefox.
Whenever I try to load ssl pages on steam like the login page or the support page etc I get these errors on firefox.

steamcommunity.com uses security technology that is outdated and vulnerable to attack. An attacker could easily reveal information which you thought to be safe.
Advanced info: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP

This one on chrome:

store.steampowered.com uses an unsupported protocol.
ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH

Anyone know how to fix this? It's clearly not my browsers. Is it something on steams end?

I'm posting this using the steam client which appears to be the only workaround.

Edit: if it helps I'm running windows 10. I run malwarebytes premium and bitdefender total security.

Edit2: I would also like to mention only steam's site is providing these errors.

I'm thinking some type of malware. I just checked 5 browsers on 4 computers/3 OSs and am not seeing anything like that... FWIW.

Hmm yet only steams site is doing it. I'll run a scan I guess.

my searches indicate this is an older browser version issue OR an older security protocol issue. It's baffling either way as it really should not be happening unless you are running older versions of your browsers. Well, as far as I have been able to determine, anyway.

Nope. Firefox is 45.0.1 which is latest and that is exactly what my issue is. It's baffling. My malwarebytes scan came up clean. I'll try running a bitdefender one now

Fixed. Seems to be tied to bitdefenders webscan of ssl links. I just found the option and turned it off and like magic it worked.

Edit: added steam community store and help links to whitelist and it continues to work.

exactly the same version I am using... as well as the latest versions of Chrome, IE (on respective OSs), Edge (on W10)...

EDIT ---------------------------
