Sonic Generations keeps Crashing randomly

So, I play alot of Sonic Games. I was trying to play Sonic Generations. There was HUGE lag, and I couldn't figure out why. So, this morning, I booted up the game and to my suprise: No more Lag. The game now is running smooth. But one big problem. The darn game keeps crashing. When I finish like one stage in Story mode and head over to the next, the game will randomly shut itself down and say: 'Sonic Generations.exe stopped working'. And that's that. Nothing else. If I then start up the game again it'll crash immediately. Does ANYBODY know what to do? I do use mods, but even when I turn off the mods, the game will still crash. If you know what to do, please help. Thank you very much.

Verify the game integrity. Library>right-click on game>select properties>local files>click on "verify integrity of the game cache"
If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it; you can back up the previous download by simply copying/moving it (../steam/steamapps/common/Sonic Generations to your desktop or somewhere easy to access. If reinstalling it doesn't work, just simply drag your old copy back in to your steamapps/common/ folder

I am kinda having this issue, my game runs at a smooth 60 fps (cause of the Direct3D 11 mod) but it crashes randomly sometimes, I already did what ToothpasteMain said, it still doesn't work.

is there any fix for this? 2025 here and still the game keeps crashing randomly without any error message?
