I'm back and still angry. I've been contacted by even more girls and women this same guy is stalking. His behavior is escalating to a genuinely scary level. I know he's received dozens of reports via his Steam profile and no action has been taken. You cannot file a support ticket for this specific purpose. Your only options are:

The last support ticket I filed, I provided numerous links to videos, recordings and images of the abusive behavior. I was told they would look into it - no action was taken, the ticket was closed and this user is still stalking literally dozens of girls and women, every day and every night.

What exactly does Steam need to take the privacy and security of its users seriously?

What you present is the dilemma we face. We could easily post all the proof you require to believe us...but then you would label us as the harassers for doing so, LOL!

If I have to lawyer up, Steam will be involved. I'm a law student and this is one of the reasons I can't comprehend a company exposing itself to legal liability like this. It's just plain stupid.

Steam support staff actually directed me to the forums and encouraged me to post here.

Well, it looks like they checked your evidence and found it lacking, just as the police did. You still can discuss the matter here if it helps you to feel better.

Also, what can Steam do in such a case? Ban his account? They sure will do that sooner or later (if his behavior breaks Steam rules), but he can make another one and TF2 is a free-to-play game. Stalk him and pre-emptively block any other account he creates? That sounds creepy. Send a SWAT team to his house? I'm afraid, they still didn't hire any mercs for such tasks, but it would be illegal anyway.

There's a simple solution here: BLOCK HIM! If he harasses other girls, they can block him and well la! Problem solved. There is absolutely no point in complaining here to us. We can't do jack squat. I get you're upset, but lawyer up? Honey, I guarantee you if you try and go after Steam, you're going to get your a$$ handed to you. If you truly are a law student, you should do a lot more studying. If you're going to try and convict someone of doing something, you need A LOT of hard evidence, something you're lacking.

Steam is not held accountable for the actions of some random dude, and it is NOT their job to step in and play detective for a woman making reports. Steam gives you the option to block people for a reason. Block him here, block and ban him from your stream, and move on with your life.

Okay, sweetie, I did all that months ago. He's been blocked, banned and still shows up on my TF2 matches every day and night. For me and dozens of other girls and women. He spams chat and voice chat, at times literally screaming into the mic. I have all voice chat muted, so I hear none of it, but affects everyone on the server. He may or may not be vote-kicked, but if we move to another server, he shows up again. I am also responsible for the minors in my community, whom he also stalks. This isn't "moving on with my life," when I have to deal with this every day and night...along with many other women and girls.

Here's the thing. This is the internet, and in online multiplayer games, there's really nothing that can be done. This sh*t ha been going on for years. If he bothers you that much, make a server and ban him from it. As much of an a$$hole as he may be, he has every right to join PUBLIC multiplayer servers as you do, even if he is being a stalker. If you want to get a lawyer, hire one and try to go after the stalker. Going after Steam is like putting on a a band aid. Temporary fix.

You're wrong. Stalkers and others who violate the TOS do not have the right to join Valve's servers. He's similar to a hacking sniper, a phisher or a trade scammer, but our stalker presents a greater risk to other users.

Most social platforms now recognize the negative effects of cyberbullying, sexual harassment, etc. and are taking proactive steps to mitigate it where they can. The rest, like Steam and Valve, need to do the same.

That is all I am asking: for Steam to enforce its own terms of service.

I haven't played Team Fortress 2 in a very long time, but doesn't it have a built-in report feature via F7? I would use that rather than external evidence. I can't guarantee Steam will take action, but I suspect they will take those reports more seriously than external evidence.
