My American Express Pre-Paid Gift Card Keeps Getting Declined

I have around $460 in this prepaid AMX giftcard and i've literally bought games from steam with it before, but now the card just keeps getting declined

Contact Steam Support and/or AMEX. Those are the only two that could provide you with any answers.

I have but the AMEX is just a robo call and when I did talk to an actual person, they said it was an issue with the merchant (steam) and that the merchant had to approve the card or some bs. When I contacted steam support, they said that it was a problem with the card issuer and that the bank was actually declining the purchases which makes no sense

is there a number i can call or an actual person I can talk to from steam cuz it seems like automated messages when i contact their support

Do you have PayPal as an option, or any other bank transfer at checkout?

You may need to make sure Amex is still accepted in your region as this is no longer a thing for a lot of regions.

When was the last time you used it on steam?

You need to use the steam ticket system under support for any help.

yeah I am using USD. I think it's a problem with the card honestly. I used on playstation store before too, but now it just doesn't work there either.

I also tried the PayPal method that was on the same reddit thread and its says my card has been declined. I think my card is just like broken or deactivated or something. I don't know how but that's basically $460 down the drain if I can't fix this.

You have to contact the card company if the card not allowing you do anything online related, as only they can explain what going on, and solve your problem.

OMG IT JUST WORKED. Ok so I deleted the card and added the funds into my account with the same card info, but changed my city and made it so steam doesn't remember the card info. It worked but idk why it suddenly worked. It was either the city change, or the do not remember card. idk but thank god it fixed and thank you everyone that helped me
